Nominate Project Presentations Now!

The EWB-USA International Conference Planning Committee is in the process of confirming speakers and presentations that directly relate to the conference theme: “Transformative Education:  Creating Opportunity From Knowledge” for the March 26-29, 2009 EWB-USA International Conference in Milwaukee, WI. 

As part of this process, we are looking for nominations and submissions from student and professional chapters for the following category:

  1. Project Presentations: Transforming Communities (professional and student chapters)
    • EWB-USA is looking to showcase EWB-USA projects that have successfully implemented strategies to raise the collective knowledge of the communities where they worked, domestic or international, ensuring that their partner communities have the educational tools necessary to design their own futures.
    • Presentations will be 30 minutes, with 15 minutes for Q&A.
    • Please send all nominations and related questions to 09projpresWI@ewb-usa.org
    • Submission Criteria
      • To submit your projects please send a PDF document containing a 200-word abstract of your project to 09projpresWI@ewb-usa.org with “Project Presentation Submission” as the subject title.
      • Abstract headings should include:
        • Presentation Title
        • Author names and affiliations
        • Contact information of the principal author
        • Indication of the geographic region of the project (e.g. Africa, Central America, Mexico, Asia/ Pacific, US Domestic, Rest of the World).
    • Project presentations topics may include but are not limited to:
      • Water supply/treatment
      • Construction management/safety
      • Alternative Energy: solar, wind, hydro
      • Community education and cultural sensitivity
      • Micro-enterprises
      • Indoor air quality
      • Community health assessment
      • Appropriate technologies
    • Deadline: January 23, 2008

    Chapters selected to present projects at the 2009 EWB-USA International Conference will receive a $100.00 grant from EWB-USA
